Blessing Boxes are small, community-supported food pantries placed around Columbus where anyone can take food as needed and donate food when able. Most of them are open 24/7 and rely entirely on community generosity.
Anyone! Blessing Boxes are for anyone who needs food or basic supplies, no questions asked and no requirements.
Blessing Boxes are placed at various churches, community centers, and neighborhood spots throughout Columbus and the surrounding area. We have a map on our website linked here
Most Blessing Boxes accept:
Non-perishable food: canned goods, pasta, rice, boxed meals, peanut butter, cereal, etc.
Shelf-stable snacks: granola bars, crackers, fruit cups.
Hygiene items: soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, pads/tampons.
Small essentials: socks, wipes, hand warmers (especially in winter).
Avoid:
Perishable foods requiring refrigeration
Open or expired items
Alcohol or medications
Large items that won’t fit in the box
Anything that could melt, leak, or spoil quickly
Only shelf stable food should be donated to ensure safety.
Blessing Boxes rely on the community. Volunteers and neighbors restock them frequently, but supplies may run low depending on need.
If you’re able, you can donate items. Otherwise, you may report the empty box through our online form or social media page.
We provide a repair request form on our site. Reporting issues helps keep the boxes safe and accessible for everyone.
